Training Walk #2

Today's training walk was 4.75 miles or just over that.   I set out at about 7:45 pm.  I got my fanny pack and decided that I was going to try it out.  I learned pretty quickly that it was much easier to wear facing backwards.  Otherwise, I was hitting my arms on it and it just felt heavy.  I carried the two full water bottles, my phone, camera, and mp3 player.  All in all it worked pretty good.  I do need to get new bottles because the top screws off of these and I had to stop to drink.  That just won't work.

Mile 1:

The first 1/2 mile was walking though my neighborhood to the Polly Ann Trail.  Here are pictures from the first mile which flew by and I felt very strong.

This sign was the beginning of Mile 2 which is very curvy on the gravel path and there are a few large hills.  I found that I got very thristy on this mile and made sure to drink.  No problems with my knee at this point in my walk.  The weather was great and the trail was not busy.

Mile 3 Starts on the Trail and then through a little bit of town.  I found some very pretty flowers and one of my favorite houses in town.  I found when I started to walk on the pavement that the outside of my right foot started to hurt a little.  I never realized how much I walk on the outside of it.  This was probably the hardest of the walk today.  I was just feeling tired.  I took a picture of the sign for the trail and park named after my grandpa and caught some deer.

Mile 4 - I dont have a whole lot to say about the last couple of miles I don't have a lot of pictures it started to get dark and I was really focused on getting home.

All in all I had a good walk today until I got home and realized that I have my first blister.  Right on the outside of that foot that was sore.  I stopped this morning and got mole skin and blister bandaged.  Today is cross training and then a 5 and 6 mile walk this weekend.

Help me reach my goal for the Susan G. Komen Michigan 3-Day for the Cure!
